Visa & Entry Requirements

Getting around Burundi

  • Shared Taxis & Buses: Minibuses and shared taxis operate in and between cities. Services may be irregular or overcrowded.
  • Private Transport: Hiring a private vehicle with a local driver is the safest and most reliable way to travel, especially outside Bujumbura.
  • Motorbike Taxis: Available in towns for short distances, but less regulated than in neighboring countries.
  • Domestic Travel: Road conditions vary. Allow extra time for travel, especially during rainy seasons or when visiting remote regions.
