Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Where Gold Meets Silver
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is Uganda’s smallest national park—just 33.7 square kilometers—but it packs a powerful punch in terms of natural beauty, cultural richness, and rare wildlife. Located in the southwestern corner of Uganda, it forms part of the Virunga Conservation Area, bordering Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The park is dominated by three extinct volcanic mountains—Mount Muhabura, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Sabyinyo—creating a dramatic landscape of lush slopes, bamboo forests, and montane vegetation.
