Rwenzori Mountains National Park – The Mountains of the Moon

Rwenzori Mountains National Park is a breathtaking alpine wonderland in western Uganda, home to the legendary “Mountains of the Moon.” Spanning 996 square kilometers, the park protects the Rwenzori Range, Africa’s highest mountain range, with snow-capped peaks, glacial valleys, and lush montane forests. The park’s highest point, Margherita Peak (5,109 meters), on Mount Stanley, is Africa’s third-highest summit and offers one of the most challenging and rewarding mountaineering experiences on the continent.
